Hello. My name is Harsha Rajashekar.

What draws me towards architecture is its multi-disciplinary nature. In its quest to solve both macro and micro problems, it asks the architect to engage with fields and parameters that aren’t often defined clearly. In a way the imperative for architects is then to be inventors!

As It requires me to move left of field in order to produce results, I feel like I will never stop learning things within the profession – aside from everything else, it’s the main thing I cherish and hope for.  I find this especially evident in detailing, methods of fabrication and sustainable strategy, which are my primary interests.

I believe that several institutions, financial or otherwise, and the rules which embody the status quo often hinder the use and production of spaces. My understanding is that architectural design is valuable in the way that it finds a solution to these hindrances by moving left of field and engaging with things outside of the traditional design scope.

I occupy myself with photography as it can be a remarkable medium for architectural representation. I use photography to communicate colour, motion and form and to further fuel my passion for the built environment.

I am a graduate of the Master of Architecture and I previously taught as a casual academic within the Bachelor program at UTS.
